Appeals Court
The Appeals Court is the middle level federal court. It consists of three to seven judges. The Appeals Courts are not trial courts. There are 13 courts in the U.S. These courts determine if the trial made an error, they do not determine guilt or innocence. The judges decide whether or not the trial was fair and conducted properly. To move from the Appeals Court to the Supreme Court the case must be appealed again.
