Conference CommitteeThese committees are a type of joint committee when both the House and the Senate pass a similar bill, then the conference committee reaches an agreement on the bill. Conference committees often abuse their powers by adding expensive amendments to a bill that was previously passed and these amendments are not voted on by the House or the Senate.
